Directions:
- 1) With a broad understanding of your target market boil that down to an outline of your most profitable prospective clients.
- 2) Prioritize these prospective clients in order of who will get the most bang from your product/service i.e. buy the most and buy your most profitable products/ services.
- 3) Start at the top, pick one of these prospective clients from your outline and answer each of the following questions about this imaginary person.
- a) What is their personality? What experiences have made them who they are and what has or will lead them to your product / service?
- b) Who are their heroes, what do they love?
- c) Who do they hate, what do they hate?
- d) What are their goals as they relate to your products/service?
- e) What types of experiences have they had in the past trying to achieve these goals?
- f) What are their fears as it relates to doing business with you?
- g) What is their experience and comfort level with technology?
- h) Now... Who are they specifically?
- What do they drive?
- How old are they (exactly)?
- What important relationships do they have with others?
- Where do they live?
- Where do they hang out in reality?
- Where do they hang out online?
- What is their career?
- What is their education level and experience?
- What are the two of three abilities they have that really energize
them (DEA's - Driving Energizing Abilities)
- What do they drive?
- a) What is their personality? What experiences have made them who they are and what has or will lead them to your product / service?
- 4) Compile the data on each persona and make this a "real" persona you can really
use as a bull's eye target for your marketing.
- 5) Have your final personas "peer reviewed" and make tweaks as required.
- 6) Revisit your personas every year for the best marketing results.
